How's this for a happy group of graduates?
I know, I know...my selfie is pretty bad. But you get the idea. These are the nineteen graduates of West's Pre-Apprenticeship partnership with PV Jobs at their graduation ceremony on January 31. All have earned three industry certifications: OSHA 30, HAZMAT, and Carpenter's Level One. They have also earned West work-readiness certificates and have acquired construction-related math skill and knowledge of local union trades.
This is a program focused on providing educational opportunities for the formerly incarcerated, so please join me in congratulating these individuals--and their families, many of whom you see in the picture--for taking this step to earn a skill that will result in gainful employment and a living wage job.
