Facilities Improvements Across Campus

While the construction of our two new buildings are the most visible sign of facilities improvement on campus, we are spending literally millions of dollars this year on projects that may not be as high-profile but still contribute significantly to the quality of life we all enjoy here at West.

Under the capable leadership of Facilities Director Kim Morera, the College has already committed over $5 million in funding from various sources to execute a wide variety of projects; for example,

  • New exterior lighting for the Fine Arts Building,
  • Replacement of the storefront windows of the Child Development Center,
  • Replacement of the north and south roofs of the Physical Education Center complex,
  • Repair and replacement of the HVAC (heating, ventilating, air conditioning) at the Physical Education Center complex,
  • Replacement of the training room carpet and floor tile in the Physical Education Center complex,
  • Campus-wide repair of concrete and asphalt sidewalks and paths,
  • Repair of the baseball field restrooms,
  • Replacement of the roof of the Aviation Technology building,
  • Replacement of the Physical Education Center Complex transformer, and
  • Maintenance of our high-voltage electrical systems.
These projects are in addition to the Bond-funded initiatives that are occurring, include the installation of classroom door locks and the improvement of campus-wide lighting.
