And Away We Go!

We've started in earnest the planning process for our new Library/Student Union.

Yesterday the Building Users' Group--individuals who have volunteered to participate in the process of envisioning the new Library/Student Union--assembled in an orientation session to learn about the next steps in bringing our new facility to reality.  We also discussed four other areas that will be renovated or remodeled as a result:  Student Services 4th floor, Fine Arts B, selected classrooms in the Math/Science Building, and the Greenhouse.  A website that provides access to all pertinent documents is being developed.

Of significance in yesterday's presentation was the emphasis on the importance of engagement in an intensive process of discussion and deliberation to focus on what type of building will best serve our campus and our students for the next 40-50 years (literally).  We will use multiple methods of communication to keep the campus apprised of the progress of this important project, but don't hesitate to ask if something isn't clear.
