The Building Users' Group for our Measure CC project enters a new phase on Monday, November 18. Membership has now been winnowed down from 58 to 40--40 individuals representing offices that are directly impacted (e.g., through demolition of current space) or who represent new services to be provided (e.g., student union).
B.U.G. members have committed to an aggressive schedule of twice-monthly sessions with representatives of BuildLACCD and the programming architects. By June 2020, our goal is to have the Library/Student Union fully conceptualized in terms of occupants, adjacencies (who will be by whom), student traffic patterns, etc. Then, these recommendations will be turned over to a team of design architects who will begin over the summer to craft designs for review.
Please note that at least two "town halls" will be held in the spring to provide additional opportunities for communication with and input from the campus community.
