WLAC's S.A.V.E. Club Takes Action

As we begin the campus discussions on becoming a sustainable institution, our S.A.V.E. (Sustainability, Action, and Vision for the Environment) Club moves beyond words and takes action to demonstrate the importance of both studying climate change and advocating for action.  Several club members participated in last week's global climate strike in downtown LA.    Our students were empowered in their public statement of concern about addressing climate change, according to Alan Cooper, president:  "I'm happy to say the first Environmental event went off beautifully. We had five people in attendance total, we all met and made signs out of recycled cardboard boxes, and then headed out from the college to the Brazilian Consulate where the climate strikes were occurring. Was an energetic crowd and everyone in the club had a great time."
