Charting a Color Course for the Campus

For those of you who may not drive into campus via the Overland/Freshman entrance, here's a look at the freshly-painted facade of the new Technology Learning Center.  If the color scheme looks familiar, that's by intent:  it's the same shades of tan and moss green that are on the Student Services Building and the General Classroom Building.

The similarity in color is intentional.  While the picture below may not be great, I've included it to give you an idea of what we're trying to accomplish:  a consistency of color schemes between and among our buildings.  As you can see, the new TLC blends well with the SSB/GC complex and with the natural environment of the campus.

A primary goal that I have had for our new construction is the creation of a campus environment that  presents a harmonious interplay of color throughout our buildings' exteriors.  The orange hues of SSB and General Classroom will blend with Math-Science, and the new Heldman Center will reflect this same color palette.  The Fine Arts Building will also receive a facelift, removing the salmon color from the exterior and using a tan/moss green/rust color scheme that will complement our new building as well as the rest of the campus core.  The Watson Center will have an off-white/tan exterior as well.

Yes, we'll still have the "blue buildings" of Aviation and the Physical Education Center...at least for now.
