From the Chancellor, as of 8:00 a.m. this morning:
"The Assembly Budget Subcommittee #2 on Education Finance held an informational hearing on higher education last week (May 19). At that hearing, the Legislative Analyst's Office presented an alternative plan for community colleges that would end the California Promise Program, funding of apportionments for athletics, and would provide additional funding for community colleges from federal funds. The Senate Budget Subcommittee #1 also held a hearing on K-12 through Higher Education. The full Senate Budget Committee is scheduled to meet on Thursday, May 28, and it is anticipated that many of the tough decisions will be made at that hearing."
