Today is International Women's Day. I want to recognize the outstanding women administrators, faculty, support staff, and volunteers whose combined expertise, compassion, and commitment contribute significantly to our efforts to ensure that our students are able to achieve their educational goals.
We must also recognize that the pandemic is having a disproportionate impact on women. According to UN Women, "Women are bearing the brunt of the economic and social fallout of COVID-19." I commend to you the excellent article at UN Women provided in the link, for it gives a global overview of the how the pandemic is taking a toll, for example, on women-run businesses and women in the services sector.
